The KidSource Child
Identification Kit provides comprehensive safety information that adults can keep on hand for emergencies. This is a complete
kit that you can provide to law enforcement in the event that your child becomes missing.
The KidSource Id Program Kit Includes:
A DNA Collection Swab and A DNA Storage
Bag.
DNA is a key element
of what families should have on hand for their children’s identification. DNA has become the “gold standard”
for all identification matters. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children strongly
encourages parents and guardians to take a DNA sample of their children as a safety measure in case their children become
missing. Because our company feels that no one else should have access to your child's DNA we do not swab children in schools
or daycares. This Kit includes a professional sterile DNA collection swab, parental instructions and a DNA storage envelope
so your child’s DNA can be recorded safely and accurately by you, at home!
A Recent Photograph.
Families should have
current photographs of their children. The photograph should be a full-face shot in color, and capture the way children really
look. Photographs should be taken at least once per year, (more often for younger children). When our company presents a safety
program in schools and daycares we take a 4 x 6 size photograph that will be included in your kit at no additional charge.
A Fingerprinting Chart including all ten
fingers.
Fingerprints can be
taken by parents, it is strongly recommended to be recorded on a paper stock that will be usable for loading into the FBI’s
National Crime Information Center, if your child should become missing. Our ID Kit includes fingerprinting service on special
card stock paper to benefit every recovery effort.
Physical Characteristics Chart.
Parents and guardians should
also have a written description of their children. The description should include: Hair color; Eye color; Weight; Height;
Date of Birth; and any unique physical attributes such as eyeglasses, braces, or piercing. This is information you will fill
out to complete your kit at home.
A Dental Chart.
Dental X-rays, dental charting, and bite impressions are all useful in making identifications. Parents
and guardians should update dental charts every 1- 2 years until children are 18. The KidSource Id Kit provides
space for parents to do their own dental charting. It may also be possible to have your child's dentist fill out this portion
of the Id Kit for you.
Child Safety Tips.
An Effective child-safety programs are ones children will enjoy, understand, and ultimately help to
change children’s behavior. The fundamental idea of prevention education is that children with self-confidence, grounded in safety competence
and high self-esteem, are less vulnerable targets for victimization.
Please Note: All of our kit items come packaged
in a clear re-closable bag for safe storage all in one place in the event that you need your recovery materials quickly.
Additional Information
Our Child Id Kit also includes tips on fingerprinting your child at home. It gives
complete and professional
instructions in the event that you are ordering kits for children that we will not reach through a school program. Such as
babies and teenagers. The kits can be just as effective even when parents gather the information. Remember all children from
birth to 18 years of age should have the protection of the KidSource Child Id Program on file in your home.
